Directions to The Sheep Shop
We're a mile from Cambridge's Market Square, close to the Grafton Centre, Tesco's and the Cambridge Retail Park, and a 10 minute walk from Hobbycraft. Don't worry if you see a lot of houses - we're a corner shop in a residential street just off the main road.
If you're coming from further afield, Cambridge is 50 miles from London.
Walking or cycling
The most direct route from the town centre is up Maids Causeway and Newmarket Road, straight under the big roundabout by the Grafton Centre, back onto Newmarket Road. Take the first left onto Godesdone Road (opposite the Travelodge) and we're on the corner with Beche Road.
Alternatively, amble along Midsummer Common by the river, under Elizabeth Way bridge onto Riverside, then take the third right onto Saxon Road. It meets Beche Road and we're on the left.
The 10, 11, 12 and Citi3 (to Berghott Close or Fison Road) buses are frequent, as is the Newmarket Road Park & Ride. Ask for the River Lane stop outside Tesco if coming from the town centre or the Travelodge stop if coming from the out of town end of Newmarket Road. The P&R no longer stops at the Travelodge, to catch that you will need River Lane. Cross to the other side of the road from the Travelodge, down Godesdone Road (directly across from it) and we're on the corner with Beche Road.
We're a 1.3 mile walk from the station, or the Citi 3 (to Berghott Close or Fison Road) buses leave from right outside the station. Ask for the River Lane stop just past Travelodge. Go down Godesdone Road (directly across from Travelodge) and we're on the corner with Beche Road.
Driving & parking
From the big roundabout by the Grafton Centre, turn onto Newmarket Road, the out of town direction. Take the first left onto Godesdone Road (opposite the Travelodge) and we're on the corner with Beche Road.
There is one parking space for customers behind the shop (reserved for teachers on Saturdays), on Godesdone Road. If that's taken, there are long-stay pay & display parking bays nearby on Saxon Road, River Lane, Riverside and the end of Beche Road (all 50p per half hour). Parking is free after 5pm. Or with plenty of free parking a few minutes walk away, why not combine with a trip to Tesco's or the retail park shops (three hour maximum Tesco, four hour retail park)?
We're on the route of the Newmarket Road Park & Ride, ask for the River Lane stop outside Tesco. We are closer in to town than that, so walk a few minutes into town and turn down the road directly opposite the Travelodge (Godesdone Road). We're on the corner with Beche Road.
There is one quite steep step from the pavement into the shop. We'll be happy to help you if you need assistance, and there's a wheelchair ramp available.
